A Fun Visit from the Despains

The evening of May 31, Danny, Amy and Jacob came for a visit.  Jacob is now on Summer break and his mother had taken a week off of work to spend with him.  Danny had Wednesday of and was able to spend the night with us before heading back to Salt Lake for work on Thursday morning.  He drove our car so that their van could be taken to Barfuss Garage for new brakes.  Not the best of weather and lots of things going on but we were able to at least try out the new fire pit for a Marshmallows roast.  Those smores are mighty tasty.  Grandpa was able to teach Jacob the proper way to set up a fire and start it. You crumple up the paper and then make a teepee out of the small pieces of wood and when it is burning good you can add the bigger log.  He thought that was great fun.   He even learned how to snap a small board in half with his foot by placing it against a rock.  I know that he was kind of board with his old grandparents but he is always so polite and helpful.  He got a prize from Kings --- a mask, rubber knife and gun with silver bullets.  Grandpa asked him if he was Hop Along Cassidy ---- WHO is that grandpa?  I said no, he is the Lone Ranger --- WHO is that grandma?  So we went to the internet for a google search ---- he really liked The Lone Ranger and Tonto and didn't think that Zorro was too bad.  Boy, Brad and I are really showing our age.  But Jacob now knows who they are and even had a great time wearing Grandpa's straw hat, even if it wasn't white.  We will just have to try and find him a Lone Ranger white hat.  He played the Lone Ranger the rest of the time.  Thursday was another busy day for us with Skylar's graduation but we were glad that the whole Despain family could share dinner at Maddoxs with Skylar and the rest of his family.  Then on Friday he patiently watched as Grandpa and I did yard work so we could host Kaden's Birthday party in the yard.  It was back to Stansbury Park on Saturday so Dad could go to work on Sunday.  This family has one crazy schedule.  We look forward to more visits and hopefully a few fun side trips.

He loves playing games on grandmas cumputer

His good buddy and cousin Claytoon --- Jacob is a great eater
