To the Dentist

Oh Dear!!!!!  After thirty-five years I now have to make a visit to the dentist.  Last evening while biting on a piece of taffy I completely broke one of my lower front teeth off.  I now have a blank space.  I think that Dr. Williams will probably look at me real funny and wonder where I have been the last thirty-five years.  I do hope we come up with an easy solution.

Grateful for My Savior

As a final thought of our beautiful Easter I must express my deepest gratitude to my Father in Heaven for his plan of Salvation.  At the cornerstone of this plan is our Savior, Jesus Christ.  When I think of the wonderful gift of the Atonement that he has given to each of us and His endless love my heart is so very full.  I pray to be worthy of this great gift.  Easter is to remind us that He is risen.  He does live and we too shall live again.  I only hope that each one of us will strive harder each day to live so we can dwell in His and our Father's presence.  Life's daily struggles can become so over whelming and it is so easy to loose the energy to do the best we can.  May we each be blessed with that strength and determination.

Easter at our House 2011

For the first time in what seems forever we spent a wonderful Easter afternoon in the yard.  With great help from all of the families we had a delicious lunch of ham, hot rolls, deviled eggs, salads, chips and dips, veggies, and wonderful desert.  We have wonderful cooks in our family.  Brad and I had prepared the yard to be as nice as possible with all of the rain and cold weather we have been having and then prayed that it would be warmer on Easter Sunday.  IT WAS GREAT ----- well for most.  The little baby's could have used a bit more warm.  But all seemed to have fun and as usual the Easter Bunny out did himself.

But most of all as I watch my family I was so grateful for their goodness not only to Brad and I but to each other.  True, we still have a way to go with including everyone but I do believe that it is getting better.  We are a very large family now with many different ideas and desires.  But when we pull together we can accomplish so many great and wonderful things.  We love and appreciate each one of you.

Jacob's Eggs

This is the beginning of Jacob's Easter Eggs.  He has had such a fun time being on Spring Vacation.  Mom was able to work her schedule to be home with him.  They have been having such a good time together.  A movie and lunch and spring cleaning.  Did I say fun.  Well, I guess just being with mom is fun enough.  Today he went to a birthday party and after cleaning his play room they started the eggs.  When they are all decorated he will send another picture.  Have fun

Visitors and Stormy Weather

Today Larry and Bonnie stopped by.  They were on their way to Kevin's house.  Kevin will be graduating from Weber State tomorrow with his Master's Degree.
Larry had called me on Monday ---- so this morning early I made an oven stew and a batch of bread for hot biscuits.  It was an okay lunch.  We were also happy to share it with Teresa, Paul, and Tyler.  A green salad, ice cream and warm chocolate chip cookies rounded out the lunch.  We had a very nice visit and were very glad to be in our nice snug home when all of the crazy weather was taking place outside.  Lots of thunder, wind, hail and rain.  You name it, I think it took place.  They left about three thirty and then Brad and I drove in the rain to check on the park.  So tired tonight and ready for the day to come to an end.  Good days are that way.

The rain does make everything look so beautiful!!!!

Yes ----- there is plenty of water

Brad and I have driven by the park daily now for about a week ------ he has been concerned that the Bear River would flood this year.  It sure looks like it is going to be happening.   At the present time the water is coming from behind the park in the channel that comes from the river.   He spent yesterday mowing all that he possibly could.  He was able to get the majority of it but some areas were wet.  This morning he left home at about seven to go check.  A phone call from him let me know that he was moving the tables from the far west bowery to the upper bowery.  Tomorrow he will be fastening the tables in the middle bowery together and to the poles.  The Elwood Youth Council had an Easter egg hunt planned for Saturday.  However, that is not going to take place.  The park will be kept locked until dryer times come.  The river is also way to high to have young children playing at the park.  Unless things change quickly it will probably come over the banks by tomorrow.

My Worst Nightmare has come True!!!!

Each time as I do a project that includes my family I am always afraid that I will mess up.  THAT IS WHAT I HAVE DONE.   I missed wishing NICHOLE a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY.  Why, I do not know.  We had delivered her gift to her early because she would be gone on her Birthday.  But no excuse would ever be good enough or fair on my part.

So Nichole I ask for your forgiveness.  I am so very sorry.  I am so very grateful and happy that you are my daughter.  You are so fun to be with and to talk with.  I love your positive attitude even though I know that you face many challenges daily.  You set such a good example of hard work and great faith.  You are in my thoughts and prayers always.  Keep up the great work.  I am go glad that I know even after you move I will be able to talk with you daily.  Minnesota seems so far away for us to just run over and visit.  You will find that peace and steadiness in your family as you continue serving your Father-in-Heaven.  I learn from you how to freely and happily serve others.  Your sons are truly blessed to have you as their mom.  As they grow older this will become more aware to them.  May this year be good and know how much I Love You.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ------- HAPPY BIRTHDAY-------HAPPY BIRTHDAY -------- EVEN THOUGH IT IS LATE

Happy Birthday to Lisa

Today is Lisa's Birthday.  Lisa is a very special woman.  She has done so many great things in service to her family, friends and anyone she comes in contact with.  Even though she might be worn and bone tired she always says she is fine and how can she help.  I am grateful that Jeff was blessed with such a good companion.  My prayer is that they will have many long and wonderful years together.  We look forward to each special time that we are able to be with her.  Love always.

Damon completes his Eagle Project

Saturday after Todd got of work he, Damon, Grandpa and his scout leader and two scouts went to the Elwood cemetery to place his project.  It is so wonderful and will be such an addition to the cemetery.  He has yet to add the vinyl and plexi-glass cover to the pack.  We are so very proud for his and his father's hard work.  It took many hours of planning, many hours of shopping and then building.  Congratulations to Damon.  Being an Eagle Scout is a great accomplishment.  We look forward to you officially receiving it.

Loaded and ready to go

Heather stays over

Brad and I have been blessed to have Heather spend about thirty hours with us.  We drove to Farmington early Saturday morning to deliver some items to the Sorias and pick up Heather.  She was very excited.  She is such a sweet and fun little girl.  Everything in life is so full of excitement and wonder for a small child.  Millions of questions,  lots of ideas of things to do,  and lots of smiles, giggles and happy times.

We played the "Guess Who the Princess Is" game on the way home.  She can tell you everything about each one even down to the color of dress.  I finally ran out of Princesses.  So then we sang a few songs and she showed us how she could count backwards.  This was in the first thirty minutes of the drive.
When we arrived home we watched a movie, played some games, had a craft time and then Grandma had to rest a few minutes before we got ready to go to the Baseball Banquet.
We arrived at The Woodruffs before five and headed to the High School.  It was a fun but long evening and Heather was great.  We told her that this was the place that her mom danced ---- she really thought that was neat.  Aunt Tonya, MacKenzie and Nate were so helpful and kind during the evening.  I so appreciate all that they did.  It was a very nice evening and I was very proud of Nate and his teammates.
Uncle DelRay came after work and helped us get back to our car at their home.  Tired and ready for bed.  Heather and I slept in the sewing room bedroom.  She hardly moved ----- I think she was very tired.  This morning about seven fifteen she tapped me and said it was time to get up.  Another special day with lots of things happening.  Her mom, dad, and brother Sam arrived for dinner and then we had some family visitors.  The Firths, the Brewers, Carli and Kaden, and Uncle Paul would brighten our day.  Lots of tears from our little girl when she had to go home.  So sad ----- I promised her she could come and stay for a longer time when school was out.
A quick trip to the Woodruffs to wish Kelsy a Happy Birthday ----- Oh Dear we missed her so we headed to Dusty's parents home in East Garland to see them. The Woodruffs rode with us. Dusty would be leaving for Boise very soon.
On the drive home we took the Woodruffs by the Elwood Cemetery to see Damon's Eagle Project.  It has been a long but wonderful day.
