Snow Day in Minnesota

No school for the Isaacson boys. Ice storm combined with snow made for very slick roads. A first for the boys.

St. George

Yesterday Brad and I drove to St. George. We are staying with Dennis and Sharron in their lovely new home.

I am sitting on the couch looking to the north at the beautiful Pine Mountain. Brad is in meetings, Sharron is working on temple names and Dennis and I are playing (reading and blogging) on our nooks. It is a nice day.

Mom's Last Bishop

Today we had the missionary couple over the Brigham City Temple project as our speakers. This will show just how small the world can be. When she began her talk she said that they lived in a very small town called Ucon in Idaho. My ears picked up and then it hit me. Brother Gregory Peck was my mom's last Bishop in Ucon. I had attended his ward several times with mother. She gave her last sacrament meeting talk in his ward. Her eye sight at this time was so poor that with Arlene' help she memorized her talk. She was very nervous about this but she would do it. Mother was not a quitter in any way. She did great but it took a toll on her. Mother was the oldest member of the ward at the time.

The Pecks gave wonderful talks that truly wanted me to strive to make the Temple the focus of all the things I do. If I remember that the temple is the way home to my Heavenly Father and my Savior I will find that eternal peace and joy.

Skylar back to Utah

Skylar's plane is scheduled to arrive at one twenty. I am excited to see Daisy's reaction.

Skylar arrived in the late afternoon and Daisy jumped all over her.  She is quite content with Grandpa and I but enjoys Skylar coming over.

Harry Potter at Disney World

While the Isaacsons were in Florida at Disney World a young girl of foreign descent came up and asked if she could have her picture taken with Tristin----alias Harry Potter. He does so look like the real deal. He said yes and the family had a fun time about it. He is also twittered by the girls at Anoka High School about looking so much like Harry. The girls think he is so cute.

Happy Birthday to Natalie

It is number 37 for Natalie Lyn. It is such a choice blessing to be her mother. There were many times when Dale and I felt we were going to lose her. We were truly grateful for some good doctors. Natalie has always been a hard worker and accomplished her goals. Today she is a very valued employee but even better a very valued daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend. May she always know of my love and respect for her.

Kevin has a Birthday

Today is Kevin's Birthday. How grateful we are that he is a part of our family. It is hard to think how fast time flies and the years pile up. He and Brittani had their first date at the time of the Clayton Reunion in 2006. Now this year at the 2012 reunion the will be a family of four. Kevin is a good husband and father. He works hard at providing for their needs and helping in their home. Truly a choice son, husband, father and friend to all.

Comfort

Yes,  they enjoy each other ---- this is sheer comfort.  Grandpa reading and Daisy sleeping.
Grandpa has read about twelve books now since the middle of December when I got my new Nook Tablet and he took over my Nook Color.  He is loving it.  The TV is off alot more and channel surfing does not fill our nights.

The Holy Priesthood

Sunday Brad and I were blessed to be present at Damon's Priesthood advancement.  He was ordained to the office of Priest by his father Todd.  He was given such a wonderful blessing and I truly pray that he listened and will remember some of the precious words.  He was blessed with good health to be able to continue his purposes on earth,  he was blessed to be an example to those around him for good and truth,  he was blessed to be aware of others and give them his service and love,  he was blessed to prepare for a mission according to his and his Father-in-Heavens desires,  he was blessed to have love for his family and serve them.  Many other blessings were given by a father who has such great love for him.

I would like to invite you to enjoy "Dinner and a Movie ---- yes in the Holy Temple.  I see so many wonderful couples come and head to the lunch room and then do a session.  There is no better place to spend an evening than together in the temple.  See you there.

Home

I returned home last night. It has been a busy and fun week. Two little ones can keep you busy. Heather and Sam are little bundles of energy. I am sure that Sid and Natalie will never want for "something to do" at their house. Baby Elizabeth is doing well. Like most newborns she has her days and nights mixed up, but over all is such a good baby. The Relief Society helped with two nice suppers, but the refrigerator is still filled with left overs. They are blessed to belong to a good ward. Grandpa and Daisy did well without me. House all clean and laundry caught up.

Today I will be trained for a new assignment at the temple. Sister Jepsen called and asked if I was willing to do this. Another new experience.

These pictures are by Natalie off of her page ----- too cute to pass up

Natalie and baby Elizabeth Come Home

The family is together again and so glad. Hospitals are great places to help us in times of need, but home is so nice when you are feeling some better.

Natalie says that baby Elizabeth seems to be a very content little girl. It will be fun to spend time with the Soria family.

Update from the Isaacsons-----they have arrived at their first stop in Tennessee. Tomorrow it will be check in time at the hotel in Florida.

Happy Birthday to Damon

It is the big SIXTEEN for Damon.  Sixteen years ago we were wondering if we would see this day.  He is truly a miracle baby.  It is our prayer that Damon will always remember the blessing that he was granted to live and that he will be faithful in fulfilling his calling here on the earth.  I know that he has it in him to accomplish great things with honor.  May he be a good son to his mom and dad, a faithful priesthood holder to his Father in Heaven, a wonderful brother to his sisters and give kindness and love to all others.  We are proud of Damon.  He has grown so tall but is still our cute shy boy.  Always respectful and loving to us his grandparents.  That cute smile and the twinkle in his eye melts our hearts and fills us with love and pride.

Elizabeth Jane Soria

A little baby girl has arrived safely. Mother and daughter are doing fine. Baby Elizabeth weighed in at 7 pounds and 15 ounces and is 21 inches long.  She is absolutely beautiful.  Some say she looks like Sam, some like Sid but I am not sure.  I do think that she has Heather's mouth and the Firth nose but she just looks like Elizabeth, a very sweet and contented little girl.  Her size now tells us why Natalie looked extra large and was feeling stretched to the max.  Both mother and daughter can now relax.  All in all us mothers  know that it is worth it when we can hold that little baby in our arms.

Thanks to Heidi and Damon  who came to sit with Daisy, we were able to leave Tuesday evening to stay at the Soria home.  Natalie had thought she would be having the baby at noon but a late call on Tuesday afternoon from the hospital said she was scheduled for seven on Wednesday morning.  Lots of changes in the carefully made plans.  On Wednesday morning we will get Heather to school before going to the hospital.

On Wednesday Morning Natalie and Sid left home very early because they had to be at the hospital by five thirty.  The children were snug in their beds upstairs and Brad and I were sleeping in the bedroom downstairs.  Brad arose at 6:45 and headed upstairs to listen for the children.  Right on schedule Heather woke up at seven and was just headed down the stairs to get me when I met her in the family room.  She is such a delightful little girl.  The love that she showers on me fills my heart with the greatest of joy.  I hope that she will always want to be with me and share her fun life.  I also pray that she will accomplish great things whether it be in her own home, in her education, in the gospel, in a career or what ever road she follows.  I know that she will complete her tasks with great care, love and dedication ----- just like her mom and dad.  Sam is one hundred percent BOY and a two year old.  He is full of such business all of the time and that giggle of his always brings a smile.  I think that this little boy will have to be on his toes to keep up with two SISTERS, but he is up to the task.

We have enjoyed having the children with us at our home in Tremonton while Dad took care of Mom and Baby Elizabeth in the hospital.  However, on Thursday evening as it became darker Sam really wanted his DADDY and MOMMY.  I told Heather we had a dilemma---- of course she wanted me to explain what that meant.  Well, you do not want to go home Heather you want to sleep another night but, Sam needs his home and Daddy and Mommy.  I was hard for her but she finally said okay.  I explained to her that I would be coming all next week to spend with them and help Mommy.

Our visit was short at the hospital because Mama Natalie was having a rough time with the nausea and Sam was having such a fun time exploring everything and asking two year old questions.  I was only able to get a few pictures and then Sam wanted to become the photographer ----with a finger over part of the lens.  He is a crack up.
