Our T and T crop is Harvest

Shelton is coming this week to harvest our beautiful wheat crop.  We were again blessed with a bounteous harvest.  We will give our tenth to the Lord and then send a goodly amount to the county for property taxes.  Then expenses will be paid and hopefully a little left over for winter.

Brandon and Jordan Marry

A wedding was celebrated on Saturday, July 14, 2012, for Brandon Wood and Jordan Steed.
On Friday evening Paul and Teresa hosted a beautiful wedding supper.  We had worked hard to make the yard as lovely as possible.  The decorations were beautiful and the food so tasty.  Just the weather came and spoiled a beautiful event.  We only needed thirty more minutes and desert would have been served and the quests could leave.  But the wind drove us into our home.  Fifty plus is a lot for our place.  But even with the interruption it was a wonderful evening.  In all of my helping I forgot to get the camera out.

The couple were married in the Elwood Church House by President Kevin Hall.  Jordan's mother had done a great deal of work and planning to make this a special night for her only daughter and child.  The decorations were nice and the buffet of wonderful foods was delicious.  It had been a very hard day for me and my heart was sad so I forgot to take pictures again.

I pray that Brandon and Jordan will remember the words of council that they were given to help them succeed at marriage.  It was rather hard to hear President Hall but I know he would encourage them to always honor and respect one another.

Called

This morning Brad and I met with President Steed, first counselor in the Brigham City Temple Presidency. He asked us some questions and then extended us a call to serve as officiators in the Brigham City Temple. Our answer was a unanimous yes. He then set Brad apart and Brad assisted him in setting me apart. He told us about the temple and how things will take place. We will begin serving on September 29th.

Surgery Day

Sid is having surgery today.  They will be removing all of his large intestine.  Major and scary.  He has a great attitude and just wants to feel better.  Priesthood blessings have been given and we will put great faith in the Lord and in those that will be preforming the operation and giving him extended care.  The children are with us in Elwood except for Elizabeth.  She is with mom at the hospital.  We will keep the children busy and hopefully they will be okay.  It is always a party at our house when they come.  Out comes the big air mattress and of course the popcorn.

Update ---- things seemed to be doing pretty good and then it went bad.  Sid went into Septic Shock and was rushed to the ICU.  He is in a bad way.  Natalie is very frightened.  To see her sweetheart take such a severe turn for the worse is hard. Sid spent two days in ICU and more days in the hospital than he hoped.  He must be careful now and get stronger before he can have the next surgery.

Update ----- home for a few days and back to work.  Maybe just a bit too much.  He has had a set back and is back in the hospital.  It is the first night of the Clayton Family Reunion and our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.  Natalie will be bringing the children to us on Saturday at the reunion and then returning (with Elizabeth) to be with Sid.

Update ----- he would spend the next eight days in the hospital very ill.  Has returned home ---- quite weak but giving it his best.  Hopes for the next surgery the first part of October.  September was the original time but his body is not able to handle that time.   Take good care Mr. Sid.

Natalie and Elizabeth spent lots of hospital time together looking after Dad

Heather and Sam spent time at our house when daddy spent his first days in the hospital before the first surgery.  It was to be an overnight thing but ended up being a three day thing.  Brad and I tried to keep the children busy and happy so they would not worry.  They had their first tractor ride with Grandpa.  Heather loved it ---- especially the driving part.  I do think she could just be a farmers wife.  (Oh No)   Sam wanted to like it but was just too nervous.  We had fun together as usual.  They keep us going and we know our age but we love it.
