A Private Screening Just for Us

Jacob, Brad and I went to the movie yesterday in Brigham City. The show was Pirates. It was a cute show. We had the entire theater to ourselves. How fun. Jacob thought it was cool. After the movie we had dinner at Maddox. That night at home we watched Shirlock Holmes on DVD. A fun long day.

Friday ----was Full

Friday was a full day for Brad and I.  We were both glad to fall into bed.

Brad borrowed the towns big trailer and we headed to Bothwell to get sod.  Two pallets does not sound like much but it was plenty of work for us oldies.  With the help of Paul, Teresa and Brad the sand pile was moved to the Wood's driveway and the area was prepared for grass.

We arrived home from Bothwell about 10:30 with the sod.  Skylar came to help us.  Our lawn from the road to the work area was quite dry so Brad brought over Awesome (the tractor) and we were able to fill the bucket with sod.  This saved a great deal of labor and time over moving it all with the wheelbarrow.  I was able to rake and prepare the areas ahead of them.  It was very hard work but thankfully the day was a bit cooler.  We finished about 3:15.  Tired but pleased.  It has been hard to sprinkle it because the wind was blowing and is still blowing.

I picked MacKenzie up at four so that we could take her to Farmington to spend the weekend with Natalie and the children.  Brad had to help with a town water problem before we could leave.  We had just made us a sandwich to eat after laying the sod when his phone rang and it was Steve saying that Rupps had broken a service line.  Would he please come and help locate the valves to control the water system.

The freeway was crazy so we took the long way home.  Our old familiar drive when we would leave visit the Isaacsons in Syracuse.  We drove by their old home in Syracuse.  Just doesn't look the same.
We arrived home about nine.  After showers and a snack to bed with us and to rest up for Saturday at the temple.

I have been learning new and exciting things on my special gift from my family. I have always been intrigued with all the wonderful technology we have available and now I am learning more. Amazing to have scriptures read to me. To see the and hear conference speakers and so much more. All of this while sitting in my chair or on the patio. Thanks kids.  By the way the gift is an IPad

Poor Daisy

We are having a thunder storm and Daisy is having a panic attack. She is so frightened by storms. She tried to get in bed with us but not happening. Her pillow is at the foot of our bed. The storm is about passed through and she is calming down. Silly puppy.

A Move for the Isaacsons

No not home to Utah. They have found a house with a yard for the boys to enjoy. It is just one street over from their present home.

The Dansies First House

Dusty and Kelsey should be spending their first night in their home tonight.  They have worked so hard and the efforst show.  With the great help of their parents it is now sparkling clean.  The new carpets are installed and a beautiful wood floor for the office has been installed by Dusty, his father, and DelRay.  Hopefully they will soon be able to relax and enjoy the fruits of their labors.  Not only the hard work but the sacrifice to save the money to help purchase the house and improve it.  The yard will be next.  Will keep in touch with the Dansie blog to see the changes.  (However, we have been their already to help and see things change.

Jacob Has a Field Trip

Jacob had a field trip to Camp Floyd.  His dad was able to go with him.  He learned alot about why Camp Floyd was established.  (Mainly to keep an eye on the Mormons in Utah).  When the Mormons did not instigate an uprising against the Federal Government and the Civil War began it was burned to the ground so that the Confederacy could not use any of its facilities).  Camp Floyd is located west a good distance from Lehi.

He had a great time and especially likes the hat he was able to buy.

Great Being A Mother

Dan and Glenda made a trip on their motorcycle on Saturday before we left for the temple to wish me a happy Mother's Day.  I is always so nice to visit them and to see them enjoying their time together.

Sunday was such a pleasant day for me. Even though I worked hard the night before at the temple my legs kept me going and I was able to enjoy all of church.  I always enjoy the lessons.  Colton Wood was the speaker for Sacrament Meeting.  He has just returned home from his mission in Equator.  He bore such a strong testimony of the goodness of his mission and the lessons that he learned and the people he learned to love.

A quiet lunch for Brad and I on the patio.  Some of our families then came to visit.  It was so great to see Ryan, Jordi, Skylar and Nate playing ball in the back yard.  Just like old times except we were missing the rest of the grandchildren.  I so loved those days when they were younger and played all kinds of games in the yard.

After much worry by many of them the question was asked -----"Mom, do you want an I Pad".  I guess they have been nervous about this gift.  Mom's answer is yes.  It will allow me to  do some things, (especially face time) that I can not do now.  It will be arriving soon.

I am enjoying my terrific mother's day gift from the Woods family.  My new kitchen drawers are awesome.  They actually open and I do not have to worry about them falling apart.  I am now spoiled with a lovely kitchen.
Thanks to each one of you.  I love you so much.  Be happy and be safe.

Home to mommy and daddy

When I told Heather that her Mother and Father's plane was in she wanted to go home.  When Heather says this I guess the party is over and home is the place to be.  Sid and Natalie's plane arrived 45 minutes early but we had to finish up some things at our house before we could head to Farmington.  Also another trip to MacDonalds was the order for supper.  We arrived at the Soria's about 9:15 p.m. and Sam just grinned when he saw his dad and Heather was so happy.  No one can ever take the place of Mom and Dad.  So much love in this little family.

Grandpa and I arrived home at about ten thirty and were ready for showers and bed.  Perhaps being older does affect your stamina.  But we will always keep trying to share in the lives of those we love so much. I do hope we have many many more years to do this.

Sid and Natalie said the trip was great and that baby Elizabeth did well on both of the flights.  The attendant gave her, her first set of wings.  They ad a great time seeing the sights in Washington D.C.

The Savior's Love

When you reach the end of your rope you just tie a knot and hang on. And while hanging ponder----- "What would the Savior do?". Remember he is always hanging there with you. I love each of you dearly. Hang on.

Spokane Washington Mission

It was a fantastic evening at our home. Skylar opened his mission call with family in Utah and his Minnesota family via Skype. So grateful and amazed with technology. He will report to the MTC in Provo on August 15th. He is called to serve in the Spokane Washington Mission.

Many family members were able to come and share this special time with Skylar.   Aunt Tonya had prepared two maps for us each to take two guesses of where we thought he would be called.  She also had great prizes for the one that hit closest  and the one next closest.  Also a wonderful package for the new missionary.  It was so much fun to watch everyone decide where to place their sticky notes.  Kelsey called Dusty to get his guess and out of the blue he said Spokane.  Yep!, he won the treats with Natalie getting second place.  We Skyped for a couple of hours.  Everyone had fun talking with the Isaacsons in Minnesota.

A cake of Skylars favorite food --- TWINKIES for everyone

As each day goes by Skylar is more excited.  He stopped in the other day to ask me if I knew who lived in Spokane, Washington.  Gosh, I couldn't think of anyone.  "Grandma ---- John Stockton one of your favorite ball players".  We teased that maybe he could bring the gospel to him.  He sent me this fun picture.  You just have to read it backwards.  His mom sent it to him.  Such a wonderful experience for this family.

Heather and Sam come Today

Sid,Natalie and baby Elizabeth will fly to Washington DC early in the morning. Brad and I will be having fun with Heather and Sam while they are gone. Heather has been marking off the days on her calendar until she could come. The mom, dad and sister will fly back late Wednesday night. We will be going between both homes to work with the temple schedule and Heather's school.  OOPS! that didn't happen.  We just stayed at our house the entire time.  We were a bit concerned about Sam being away from Mom and Dad so long, but he did great.  Maybe a melt down once or twice but in the arms of Grandpa he was soon just fine.  Heather said that we didn't get everything done that we talked about ----but we did keep busy and with my "DUMB" leg as Heather called it I was a little bit slow.
Heather is growing up so fast and changing so much.  Sam tries to keep up with everything that she does, sometimes to sisters disgust.  Grandpa and I smile and think how blessed we are to enjoy such a special time with family.
Monday was a shopping day at Kings for fun things.  Brad had Sammy by the hand going up and down the isles and I had Heather.  We just laughed.  Sam we decided is just like his dad when it comes to shopping.  Everything was two dollars and that was too much.  Miss Heather however, had very expensive tastes.  In the end she opted for a doll and jump rope and gave her four dollars to Grandpa for the extra cost.  What jewels they are.  Off course Sam opted for a bat and ball and a bag of twelve little balls.  He just can't get enough of throwing and playing with balls.  Every time grandpa pitched to him he would hit the floor with the bat before taking his batting stance.  Heather is such a little mother with her babies.  Each night it was time to put them in pajamas and in the morning they are dressed for the day.  Just like mom does.
Tuesday was a picnic at the park and slip and slide time.
Wednesday was games at the house.
It is always fun to have little ones with us. BUSY TIMES ARE AHEAD?

She is wet as can be and loving every minute
