Was Sad Day

We left Champlin and Jeff this morning about 10:00 a.m.  It was hard to watch Nichole tell him good-bye.  I know that they miss each other so much.  They make a good team.  The boys are very lucky to have such great parents.  I am sure it will be doubly lonely for Jeff to have had his family for these past four days and now to be alone again.  With Nichole as the driver and Grandpa and Jane as the navigators we made it through some very busy roads as we headed south past Minneapolis to the bottom of Minnesota.  We then headed west to Rapid City, South Dakota.  It took ten driving hours to get to our hotel in Keystone, South Dakota, which is very close to Mt. Rushmore.  It is a fun old town and the hotel is first class.  (With summer vacation travel it cost first class also)  We came through a very strong wind and rain storm which slowed us down abit.  I have to admit I was a bit nervous.  The boys are unwinding in the swimming pool right now.  I have a very swollen and sore ear and hope that I can rest and maybe feel some better tomorrow.  It has bothered me for several days but today was the worst.  Today's landscape was one of fields (huge fields) of corn.  Our whole little valley could fit in one field.  So huge!!!!
