Sleepover at Grandma and Grandpas

Friday, June 11, 2010 ----- Wall to Wall beds for Grandma and Grandpa.  It is such a fun time when family sleeps over.  Just not a great deal of rest for anyone.  I understand that Aunt Nichole had had enough by 1:30 p.m. and told everyone to close their eyes and go to sleep --- RIGHT NOW.  Sorry, Grandma and Grandpa's bedroom is at the other end of the house ---- guess we slept right through it.  But the children do have fun getting together - Jacob and Clayton - Hunter and MacKenzie -  and Skylar and Tristin are just on their own.  Grandma got a bit confused about how many to set the Breakfast table for ---- I kept saying nine and was told it would be ten.  So counted again ---- OOPS - MacKenzie was under the covers still trying to sleep - it was ten.  A very late night supper of pizza was had when the Isaacsons arrived and they had no more finished eating when Skylar was asking what was for breakfast.  Takes a lot to feed growing boys.  Grandma promised a great breakfast of French Toast, bacon, hash browns and fresh fruit and juice.
One of the usual events of a family sleep over is a clogged JOHN.  Well, this time it was not the boys ---- yes -  the lone girl MacKenzie managed the feat and was she ever proud.  I know not every family would discuss this matter but it really is a standing occurrence.  Maybe sometime we will get this problem solved but for now we just pray that nothing too serious happens and we have a major flood.  Everyone pitched in and soon sleeping bags were rolled and put away, dishes done and the kitchen cleaned, and we again looked a bit put together.  As the weather warmed the backyard and the basketball court became a wonderful playground for games with Nate and Brandon joining the group.  But ----- alas for some reason  an argument occurred and soon a crying child came in.  What happened next was not so great.  It is so hard to have conflict in a family.  After much discussion and trying to ease the situation it was decided to ask Uncle Paul to come over and assist grandpa in giving the four Isaacson boys a Priesthood Blessing.  I know that having their father so far away has been a strain on the whole family and that at times Nichole becomes overwhelmed.  I do know that being close to our Heavenly Father and calling upon Him for help is the greatest blessing that we have.  WE ARE NOT ALONE ---- He will help us.  We all gathered in the great room and wonderful blessings were given ---- And I know that hearts were touched and hopefully words will not be forgotten and the boys will always know that Heavenly Father will help them and that if they will but follow the example of Christ and LOVE ONE ANOTHER ---- they will become very supportive and loving brothers.  My grandchildren are so very precious and as their grandmother I am always thinking and praying for them.  The gospel of Jesus Christ is here on the earth at this time because of the restoration and the work of the Prophet Joseph Smith.  Dear Grandchildren embrace the gospel and know that it will never let you down.  It's teachings will lift and guide you to be the best that you can be.  Love you lots
