Grandchildren bring so much to our lives

We have been told that we will be great grandparents to two little girls.  Brittani and Amanda have had an ultra sound that indicates our sweet new little ones will be girls.  Now experience tells us that this is usually right but sometimes a surprise can happen.  We look forward to August and September and the safe arrival of these two precious babies to our family.

Today Shaylee has become the proud owner of her first purchased car.  Good for her.  Having to make that monthly payment takes great commitment.  We know that she will be faithful and take good care of her new car.  Proud of you Shaylee.

I understand something is in the wind for Heidi.  I have not yet any official word but look forward to that special visit and good news.

Justin is home from his cruise.  I was a little concerned since they were traveling south to Mexico.  The stop at Mazatlan had to be canceled.  Glenda reports that he had a great time.  Justin is doing extremely good at his job.  In fact, he has come up with a special program that really impressed his superiors and is now training his co workers how to do it.  One of Justin's loves is Volley Ball.  He is a great competitor and recently was in a tournament and won the championship.  Seems like he is always on the go.

I am quite sad that Kelsey and Dusty will be moving to Boise.  Dusty is already working there and Kelsey will be moving at the end of this semester at Utah State University.  She is working with her councilor at the school to continue with her education while she is gone.  It looks like they will be in Boise for about one year. We will definitely be heading to Boise for a visit.

Nate is again on the baseball team at the High School.  Nate is finishing up his Sophomore year so will be playing on the JV team.  He dresses with the varsity and his number is 4.  That is the number that his cousin Ryan wore during his playing years at Bear River High School.  Nate just returned home from St. George where the team participated in a tournament.  They went two for two.  It takes a great deal of time and commitment to make a team.  We are proud of him.

I understand that Ryan and Jordan's wedding plans are coming along.  We are looking forward to June and sharing this special day with them.

Brandon has moved to an apartment today.  Our prayers are with Brandon.  I miss seeing him and truly pray that life will bring good things for him.  I hope he knows that he is special and we are proud of his great commitment to being a first class mechanic at the Nelson business.

My little namesake Clayton is working hard on becoming a good reader.  He and I have a deal.  It is truly a deal that I hope I have to keep.  Reading has not been easy for him.  (Sitting still long enough to read is no fun)  How grateful I am that he has a mother that makes sure that every night they read and do the homework.  Children do so need moms and dads.  And moms and dads who give to their children are to be commended in every way.  Their lives are very busy and I know that they can become very tired and worn down.  Be proud and know that you are doing great.

It is hard to think that Skylar will soon complete his Senior year at Syracuse High School.  Skylar and I have shared alot with his schooling over the years.  How well I remember practicing spelling words, doing math and reading.  School has not always been a piece of cake for Skylar but he has done it and is finishing with flying colors.  However, sometimes this grandma would like to move the clock back when problems were little and talking together was much easier.  Gosh!! he will soon be a missionary.

We are blessed to be grandparents to twenty two grandchildren.  I hope they know of our love for them but even more I hope they know of our testimonies of our Father in Heaven and our Savior.  That we know that they live and that they love us.  That they only want the best for us but they also expect us to do our part.  That part will take great commitment and hard work.  Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not to be taken lightly.  It is a 24/7 commitment.  Remembering to put Christ first before the desires of man can be very challenging but well worth it in the end.  Our prayers are with each of you and we will always be here for you.  The door is always open.  We will do our best and we will always be honest in our deeds and words.  Love you
