Happy Birthday to Sid Soria

A Very Happy Birthday to Sid today. He tells me that he is thirty-three. We are so very grateful that Natalie found Sid or vise versa that Sid found Natalie. We are also very grateful for the wonderful new experiences that he has brought to our family. Our prayer is that we will always be an example of fairness and good to him as he is to us.
I will always remember and cherish that first Christmas Eve that Sid came to spend with us and to meet us for the first time. He was so kind and accepting of us and our celebration of our Savior Jesus Christs Birth. Brad and I had talked a great deal about whether we should do things differently because of Sid's Jewish faith. But we knew that would not be the right thing for we are witnesses of Christ at all times and in all things. And that is what we are. I pray that our example had some influence on Sid as he began to accept Christ into his life.
Yesterday as the Soria family visited with us we had a fun impromptu Birthday Celebration. Sid said that he wanted to break with tradition and just have oatmeal cookies for his birthday and not a cake. Now that did not sit to well with Heather --- she was insistent that her Dad would have a cake. So with some candles from the pantry and a fruit cake from the cupboard we celebrated Dad's birthday with a "CAKE" and some candles. Children can bring so many smiles and sometimes so much frustration. Enjoy --- they soon grow up and are leaving the nest. Thanks Sid -- you are a very special son-in-law and our prayers are with you each day that you will be blessed with peace and joy.
