We arrived home today from a nice vacation with the Despain Family. We are grateful for Uncle Harlen's generosity in letting us use his summer home. It brought back so many wonderful memories. I know that time marches on but sometimes I would just like to have a few of those "Good Old Days" back.
Headed North --- Always love the Tetons ---- A stop at Big Juds was on the menu----a good burger |
Jacob --- loving every minute --- so much fun |
Swinging --- playing games ----- Grandpa reading on Grandma's Nook --- Book about Mickey Mantle |
Yellowstone Park here we come ---- the only animals we saw other than the two legged variety ---- I have never seen so many people swimming in the river in the park ---- all decked out in swimsuits |
Arrived just a few minutes before this eruption ---- we were a ways back but it was so magnificent |
A trip to the visitors center at Old Faithful to see a movie and then a stroll down memory lane as we went to the Old Faithful Inn |
Amazing consturction |
Visited this place many time in my youth with my family ---- lots of good memories |
We stayed for a second eruption ---- much closer ---- what a show ----- we also watch two others erupt before Old Faithful |
Moose outside of park on the Madison below Mack's Inn |
The Despains walk to the John Sack cabin |
Brad and I enjoy sitting by the river and waiting for their return ----- Jacob then tested out the coldness of the water. Pretty cold ---- sign says 52 degrees year round. His feet got a bit red. |
Don't know but just maybe the same moose ---- showed up at Big Springs as we were leaving |
Brad doing a bit of repair ---- the darn chipmunk or squirrel has taken residence |
Jacob and the Indian War Tepee --- We learned about a War Lodge at Cody ---- He would really have loved to be able to find a covering for the tepee and played in it ----- thought it was cool |
Beautiful Wild Flowers everywhere |
A day shopping in West Yellowstone on the August First ---- then a fun evening at the Playmill. We enjoyed "Joseph's coat of many colors" |
