"So how is retirement?" we are often asked ---- "couldn't be better will be our reply" ---- time for each other and time for family ---- and that leaves no time for self pity. Loving every minute and grateful for each new day. When given the chance we load up and are on our way. Being with family is the best that life can offer. And their sweet love and kindness in return makes each day just a bit better

I Belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints
How blessed I am for this blessing. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and am grateful for His church.
A Wonderful Gift
Today Paul completed the installation of my kitchen drawers. They are absolutely spectacular. Beautiful wood and master carpentry work. There is no way to say how grateful I am for his hard work. Doing remodeling projects on a house comes with a whole set of problems, but he met the challenge and I now have sturdy beautiful drawers. I am so grateful to him and to Brad who is always willing to support and help Paul. Thanks guys.

Tyler and Zoey
Spent a nice two hours with Meagan and the children today. Run, run, run and then run some more. Tyler is all little boy and never slows much. So cute---in the end he snuggled up by me and went to sleep to the song "Old MacDonald Had a Farm". I was really running out of animals when his little eyes closed. Zoey took a nap, had a bottle and smiled and smiled. A precious little family.
What is Your Guess
I have been talking with Skylar about where he might be called to serve his mission. He so wants to go to Europe----namely France. I keep teasing him that it will be Minnesota. What do you all guess? It is an exciting time for him. Life will be very different but he will be okay if he gives it his best.
Today we took him to the eye doctor in Logan. One more item checked off the list. We tried to buy him supper----but he said he was not hungry. Strange teenager. Love him so.

So Glad They Are DONE
The taxes are done and filed. I am so glad. Every year I get later and later because I hate having to get all the information together. Oh, for just a simple quick form. Not the way it is---have a lot more to work with as farmers. Grateful for our blessings and for America even if I still have to do the taxes. I would never want to live anywhere else. America is wonderful.

Nichole Reaches 40
It is another birthday for Nichole. She hated 39 but 40 will be great. The best times are now, so I hope she will truly embrace this special day. Nichole is a wonderful daughter. She is bubbly and full of energy. Keeping up with the five men in her family keeps her on her toes. Minnesota is such along ways from us and we miss her!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday to my daughter.

A Good Day
We spent the day visiting family. We left early this morning for Stansbury Park to watch Jacob participate in the fourth grade classes program at Rose Springs Elementary. It was such a good program. The students have been learning all about Utah. They shared with us through recitation, song, dancing and art projects all that they had learned about our great state. Then it was back go the Despains for a frog nog, a short game on the WII and to get Daisy.
Our next stop was at the Sorias to see about Elizabeth Jane's blessing dress. She will be wearing her mothers. I will just
need to make a little slip. Had lots of laughs with Heather and Sam.
They loved playing with Daisy outside. However, they were a little disappointed that Brad and I would not jump on the trampoline with them. We are just too old because our hair is white. They are funny and we love them. Little Elizabeth is growing fast. Lots of smiles and cute baby noises.

Missionary Preperations
Skylar has had a busy day at the dentist, oral surgeon and the doctor today. He is busy getting things in place for his mission. Today grandmas job was to get a picture and get it sent to Nichole so she could add it to his missionary site with the church.
Nate at his Junior Prom
Saw some very cute pictures of Nate on Facebook this morning. Wasn't aware that the Junior Prom was last Saturday. Tonya said that they had to kind of split up the day. On Friday they went on a BIG Date because Nate had ballgames on Saturday. They rushed from the ballgames in time to dress, pick up his date and get to the promenade at the Eccles Center in Logan. Where did the years fly by to.

Justin is playing volleyball with the USU volleyball club. They traveled to Colorado Springs to play the Air Force club. His mom reports that they lost but Justin enjoyed. He travels again this next week for another games in Las Vegas.

A nice 24
The Despains spent not quite twenty four hours with us. They arived Friday late afternoon and left at non on Saturday. We enjoyed cookies and ice cream for Danny and Jacob's birthdays. Always nice to see them even if for a short time.
Cinderella
Today Heather preformed in the Ballet "Cinderella" with her dance studio. It was a beautiful production given by the students of various ages.
She is able to take lessons from an excellent dance studio in Bountiful.
Today's performance was at the Bountiful High School Auditorium. The scenery and lighting were lovely and the dances beautifully danced. Heather was one of Cinderella's little mice. Someday if she practices hard she can be a lead ballerina to.

The Eagles are Back
Went and saw the eagles Sunday afternoon. (Big two minute drive)
About twenty five this year. What a regal bird.

Arrived Home from St. George
Brad and I drove home on Friday. The roads were clear and the drive was good but long. We unpacked and put things away to be ready for the temple on Saturday.
Skylar and Daisy did good, but poor Skylar came down with a miserable cold. He only felt like laying around. So I think that he and Daisy slept. Glad to report that he is feeling some better today.
By Sunday night Brad and I were drained. It was an extremely busy time at the temple. Ten wonderful missionaries and eight cute little brides to receive endowments. That makes for a large crowd. We arrived home about ten after we picked up Daisy from the Johnson home.
Yesterday I just collapsed. Had no energy left.

Snow Day in Utah
Sorry to hear that our Northern Utah families are having a bit of winter weather. It is nice in St. George. Suppose to get to 58 today. Not real warm but not too cold either. Brad is in meetings. Dennis and Sharron took us to a couple of their favorite stores yesterday. Maybe we will think more about updating the tv. Time will tell. Bought a nice metal wall decotation for over our bed. Oh, I do like home furnishing stores.
